Central Govt award to scribe

GUWAHATI, June 22 - Senior journalist and editor of Dainik Purvoday Ravi Shankar Ravi has been conferred with the Shiksha Puraskar Award of the Central Hindi Directorate under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India for his book Lal Nadi, Nile Pahad. The book is a clear portrait of the socio-cultural activities and tourist destinations of the north-eastern region.

It is worth mentioning that only five books from across the country are selected under this scheme. The official declaration was made by the Ministry today.

The award which includes Rs 1 lakh in cash, a certificate and a memento, will be presented ceremonially in New Delhi shortly, said a press release issued here.
