NAGAON, Feb 14 - With a two-day-long programme, the centenary celebration of Asom Pradeshik Yogi Sanmilani began from today here at Swahid Manbor Nath memorial Khetra at Nagaon Nehrubali field.
The celebrations began with a plantation drive, inaugurated by Lakhikanta Nath, the executive president of the reception committee of the centenary celebration following which Dr Arun Kr Bora, Bhadrakanta Nath and Tailukya Mohan Nath led the green drive. The main tent, Swahid Manbor Nath memorial Khetra was inaugurated by Ghanashyam Nath, the chief advisor to the reception committee of the centenary celebration.
Similarly, the representatives� camp of the Sanmilani was inaugurated by Paran Kr Boruah, the president of Nagaon Zila Sahitya Sabha and Dr Arun Kr Nath, president of Asom Pradeshik Yogi Sanmilani, Dr Prafulla Kr Nath, the president of the centenary celebration and MLA Rupak Sarma, the president of the reception committee, hoisted the three main flags of the celebration following which other hundred dignitaries hoisted hundred flags.
Meanwhile, a conclave of the Sanmilani was held which was presided over by Joya Devi and Nitumoni Nath delivered the inaugural speech. Uday Nath, the general secretary of the reception committee released Kadoli, the mouthpiece of the centenary celebration. Prasanta Nath released the book Yogir Utpatti aru Itibriti by Anil Chandra Nath. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister Pijush Hazarika and the BJP State president Ranjit Kr Dass will grace the open session of the centenary celebration in the afternoon.
