GUWAHATI, March 31 - CCAN, Noonmati emerged champions in the 1st Upahaar Challenge by defeating Royals Club in the final at the Latasil playground here today. Owing to rain and wet outfield the final match was decided by virtue of Bowl-out in which CCAN had the upper hand over Royals Club by 3-1.
As a kind and social gesture, each team decided to donate Rs 5000 cash towards Upahaar NGO from their winning cash prizes for social services to be done by the NGO.
Renowned former cricketer of Assam Badal Thakur handed over the champions running trophy in memory of Champa Rani Saikia while the champions replica was given by Sampriti Kalita in memory of Kunjolata Kalita.
