GUWAHATI, Sept 22 � The two-day CBSE Inter School Cluster I Table Tennis Tournament, organized by the Don Bosco School, Guwahati, was inaugurated today in the opening ceremony held at the school�s Mama Margaret auditorium. The meet was inaugurated by Subhash Basumatary, director incharge, Sports Authority of India (SAI) city centre, in the presence of CBSE observer Mrinal Kalita, Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) secretary Tridib Duvarah, ATTA joint secretary Carfew Roy, ATTA treasurer Nayanjyoti Sarma, school principal Fr Antony Thekkel, administrator Fr Sebastian Kuricheal, vice principal Fr Xavier Beck, patron, organising committee, Romanus Horo, participating players, officials and members of the school�s teaching staff.
A dance show by school students was performed in the inaugural function. The two-day event will be held at the Nihal Singh Thakur Indoor Table Tennis Hall at the school premises. A total of around 19 teams, (including 9 outstation teams) are taking part in the meet.
The total number of participating players along with officials is 115, which includes a total of 98 paddlers and 17 officials, comprising of team managers and coaches.
