CBI raids Kejriwals Principal Secys office

By The Assam Tribune

NEW DELHI, Dec 15 - Triggering a political storm, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today spewed venom on Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling him a psychopath and coward after CBI raids on the office of his principal secretary and targeted Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over alleged corruption in Delhis cricket body under his watch.

Amid charges and countercharges and claims and counterclaims, Kejriwal said his office was raided which was denied by CBI as well as Jaitley in Rajya Sabha where the opposition created an uproar.

A battery of BJP leaders and ministers came down heavily on Kejriwal for his choice of words against the prime minister calling it condemnable and unwarranted and demanded apology.

The chief minister claimed he was in fact the target and that Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar was just an excuse.

I am surprised at the raids at my office, Kejriwal told reporters in the evening, hours after he broke the news of the raid with a tweet CBI raids my office as the CBI team reached the third floor of Delhi Secretariat.

The AAP leader also thundered telling Modi that he is not going to be cowed down by any CBI raid. Im telling you Modiji, you may have scared others but Im not among those who can be intimidated. Ill fight till my last breath.

Kejriwal claimed that the CBI raid was to look for an inquiry committee file relating to Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) that traps Jaitley.

It has become necessary to reveal that why did the CBI come to my office today and which was the file they were looking for. This is the DDCA file under which Arun Jaitley is getting trapped, the Delhi Chief Minister claimed.

Kejriwal said his government had set up an inquiry committee to probe alleged irregularities in DDCA which had submitted its report.

Jaitley was the DDCA President for many years and I had set up a committee to probe all the corruption that has taken place during his tenure. The committee has submitted its report and a commission of inquiry was to be set up over it, and a file pertaining to it was in my office, alleged Kejriwal.

Jaitley rebutted the chief ministers allegation saying it was absolutely rubbish.

Talking to the media outside Parliament, he said, what he (Kejriwal) said in the morning seemed to be incorrect. What he is now (evening) saying, is absolutely rubbish. PTI
