JORABAT, Jan 18 - Members of six Amri Karbi organisations today took out a rally from slain Barpathar PS OC Vinod Phangso�s native village Chamatapathar near Sonapur to the Circle Office of Sonapur, demanding a CBI probe into his killing. They alleged the police probe has not been carried out properly and it is also progressing at a snail�s pace.
Phangso�s wife Monika Bumrong also alleged that even though an ex gratia amount of Rs 20 lakh was announced by the Chief Minister for the kin of the deceased, they have not been told as to how to proceed officially to obtain the same.
The organisations also demanded a government job for Phangso�s wife. They threatened that if the demands are not met by February 12, they would intensify their agitation. The organisations that took part in the rally were Amri Karbi Students� Union, Amri Karbi Arloso Asem, Amri Karbi Bangthe Asem, Amri Karbi National Council, Amri Karbi Ruksak Asem and Amri Karbi Tsornam Ahersi Amel.
