CBI probe against NIT Silchar teacher likely

SILCHAR, April 12 - Professor Touhidur Rahman, an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar, has been sent on suspension by the Board of Governors of the institute for allegedly offering consultancy services to various agencies in exchange of huge sums of money.

Professor Rajat Gupta, the director in-charge of the institute, said that the faculty member has been sent on suspension after the matter was reported to the Board of Governors. �A case of financial anomalies has been filed and we are pressing for a CBI probe into the matter,� Professor Gupta said.
