CBI again quizzes Anjan Dutta

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 27 Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta was quizzed for the second consecutive day today by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at its Kolkata office in connection with the multi-crore rupees Saradha chit-fund scam.

Dutta was today asked questions relating to printing rates charged from both Times of India and Sakal Bela (a Bengali daily owned by Saradha group) during a specified period of time. Both the dailies were printed in the press owned by the APCC president.

Dutta told this reporter that the CBI sleuths have also asked for balance sheets of both Anubhuti Printers and Arpita Printers (owned by Duttas wife) for the year 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09.

I had merged both Anubhuti Printers and Arpita Printers into Anubhuti Printing and Publishing Private Limited and the CBI officials sought accounting details related to that, Dutta said.

He said, As the matter is technical, I have asked them to get their queries clarified from my accountant.

The CBI officials, according to Dutta, also asked questions related to his political career.
