NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Nov 14 � A criminal case has been filed against the national news channel News X by All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) for telecasting a news report on alleged terror links of the party�s president and MP Badruddin Ajmal. This was stated by Mamood Imdadul Haq Chawdhury, the complainant and leader of AIUDF in a press meet held in North Lakhimpur Press Club today.
News X in its news telecasted on October 28, had accused Badruddin Ajmal of having links with Jehadi activities across the border in Bangladesh.
The AIUDF leader here said that criminal cases had been filed against seven persons of the news channel namely Dilip Venkatia Raman, CEO, ITB Network, RK Gupta, group C executive officer, Varun Kohli, CEO, Rahul Sivshankar, MD, editorial chief, Alka Sinha, web leader, Deeptush Mazumdar, editorial director and Kartik Korlay, MD. The case has been registered at the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, North Lakhimpur.
