JORHAT, April 21 - A case (no. 824/18) under Section 384 of the IPC has been registered at the Jorhat PS Thursday night against the Jorhat Municipal Board authorities after an FIR was lodged by two persons identified as Nabajyoti Das and Dipak Das alleging non-implementation of a recent Gauhati High Court order by JMB.
Das has alleged that JMB authorities were not implementing a recent HC order that stayed collection of fee of two-wheelers from parking stands in the town by agents of a private contractor who was awarded the job by the JMB earlier and also collection of daily tax from hawkers from Chowkbazar area here.
Das alleged that the HC�s directive to engage JMB employees to collect the parking fees and daily tax from hawkers was not followed by the JMB authorities. A police official said that investigation was on.
