Career counselling workshops at city schools

GUWAHATI, Oct 24 - In continuation of its initiatives under Project Insight Plus, Headway conducted career counselling workshops at city-based Kaziranga English Academy on October 22 and South Point School on October 24.

At Kaziranga English Academy, about 350 students from Class IX to XII participated in the workshop, while students of Class X and Class XII participated in the workshop held at South Point School.

The workshops were conducted by counsellors Neetu Sarawgi and Sanjay Kedia.

Digen Bora, PRO, State Bank of India, was present at South Point School to share valuable insight on career prospects in banking with the students. He briefed the students on how banking serves people and also laid emphasis on good moral character and humble behaviour.

Sanjay Kedia spoke on mainstream career opportunities, while Neetu Sarawgi talked about the changing times and the need for the new generation to develop as critical thinkers and problem solvers. She also emphasised that liberal arts help an individual adapt to changes and adopt new skills. Principal of South Point School Krishnanjan Chanda laid stress on the continuity of career counselling for students. Headway has been conducting career workshops in both government and private schools and colleges.
