Carbon neutral pledge prog held

GUWAHATI, Dec 15 - Prof SP Singh, Vice Chancellor, Royal Global University (RGU) highlighted the need to follow a practical and judicious model of resource consumption in order to avoid imbalance, drain and eventual depletion of natural resources to meet the common global need of establishing carbon neutrality at the earliest.

Prof Singh said this at the �NotZero-NetZero� Carbon Neutral Pledge programme organised online on December 12 by TERRE Policy Centre, on the occasion of completion of five years of The Paris Agreement, UNFCCC, said a press release issued here today.

Prof Singh highlighted the mechanism adopted by RGU to achieve its goal of generating a climate-friendly and environmentally sustainable varsity through the model of integrated neutrality; thereby assuring of solidarity with the cause at all steps.

Moderated by Dr Rajendra Shende, Chairman, TERRE Policy Centre, the online programme was also attended by Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE; Saurabh Kumar, Executive Vice Chairman, EESL; Eric Falt, Regional Director, UNESCO; Kishor Rajhansa, Director, Global Carbon Council; Dr Anil Kumar, Director, MSSRF and MV Ashok, senior advisor, SCCN among others.
