JORHAT, Sept 2 � The election committee of the Asam Sahitya Sabha today announced the final list of nine candidates for election of president, vice president and chief general secretary of the organisation for the term 2015-16.
Dr Dhrubajyoti Bora, Dr Naren Kalita and Dr Pushpa Gogoi were selected as presidential candidates, while Dr Malini (Nilima Sarma), Prahlad Chandra Tasa and Jadav Sarma were announced as candidates for the post of vice president.
For the post of chief general secretary the names of Dr Paramananda Rajbonshi, Debajit Bora and Dr Upendrajit Sarma were announced by the committee.
The election committee stated that the poll will be conducted through secret ballot at each of the branch offices of the Sabha and the results are scheduled to be declared on December 10, 2014 at its head office in Jorhat.
