Canara Knowledge Champ 2019 held

GUWAHATI, Oct 20 - Canara Bank organised the national-level quiz competition �Canara Knowledge Champ� today, at the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Auditorium, IIT Guwahati, a press release stated.

Students from classes VIII- XII representing 90 schools/ colleges from the north- eastern region participated in the competition.

The quiz was hosted by Quiz Master Tareque Laskar from M/s Greycaps India Pvt Ltd., Bengaluru. Master Aditya Anand jha and Master Hrishikesh Goswami from Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhari emerged as the winner and received a cash prize of Rs 50,000, trophies and certificates.

Master Varun Goswami and Master Sreyesh kumar singh from Faculty H S School were the 1st runners-up and awarded cash prize of Rs 30,000, trophies and certificates. The 2nd runners-up team were Master Partha Pratim Sharma and Master Barnil Medhi from Cotton University School who were awarded cash prize of Rs 20,000, trophies and certificates. All the participants were handed over certificates.

Shri PS Robi, Deputy Director Guwahati IIT was the chief guest. The programme was inaugurated by Pranay Ranjan Deo, Deputy General Manager/ Circle head of Canara Bank Guwahati. Manoj Kumar Das, Ajay Kumar, Shyam Kumar Saran, Sanjay Kumar Dabral Assistant General Managers and other executives attended the programme.

A preliminary round was held in which all the teams participated from which six teams were selected for the final round.

A lucky draw in the form of questions and answers on the history and evolution of Canara Bank was also conducted among all the participants and the guardians separately. Five winners from among the guardians and five winners from among the students of the lucky draw got gifts as token of appreciation. There were also audience prizes in the competition.
