Campaigning for TAC polls ends

MORIGAON, Aug 17 - The campaigning for the Tiwa Autonomous Council polls came to an end at 5 pm today. The polling for the 30-seat TAC will be held from 8 am on August 19.

Meanwhile, the Morigaon district administration has set up an election control centre at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), here from where 1,500 polling and presiding officers will proceed to 190 polling stations located in different places of the district tomorrow. Around 1,32,000 voters will determine the fate of 75 candidates from different political parties who are on the fray in 19 constituencies of Morigaon district.

Four companies of armed CRPF personnel have been engaged to maintain law and order during the TAC polls in the district, said Morigaon SP.
