SILCHAR, June 18 � The Nagarikattwa Suraksha Sangram Committee, a local organisation for the rights of the people of the Barak Valley, has undertaken a postcard campaign to draw the attention of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the National Register of Citizens (NRC) update process.
Members of the committee on Thursday were seen appealing to the people to come and put their signatures on the postcards which will be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an appeal to look into the matter urgently.
Pradip Kumar Deb, convener of the committee said that as many as 6000 postcards with signatures from people over various demands, including solution to the D voter�s issue before updating of the NRC and inclusion of the names of the permanent settlers from other States in Assam in the NRC etc., will be sent to the Prime Minister Modi seeking his intervention into the matter.
