GUWAHATI, March 31 - Earthfull Foundation, a non-profit organisation of the city, has been carrying out a series of mass awareness campaign in the city to stop the usage of plastic bags among common people.
According to a statement, the foundation has recently distributed some dustbins among households of Ambikagiri Nagar area with the aim to make waste segregation process successful in the city. As part of the programme, its members have also carried out awareness drive on waste segregation in source among those households.
The overall awareness drive has been under way in three phases namely �Waste Segregation�, �Plastic Detox� and �Green Makeover�. Students of various city-based schools also joined the campaign and made some paper bags, which were later distributed in some shops of the city.
