GUWAHATI, June 8 - The high-powered district level committee, recently formed by the Kamrup Metro authority to check the activities of the taxi syndicate operating in the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, held a meeting today.
The meeting was chaired by Mukta Nath Saikia, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro and attended by members of the committee, including senior officials from the Airports Authority of India, transport department and police.
It discussed issues of existing parking space, parking slot, operation of taxis and other related matters concerning the airport.
It also gave responsibility to the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to verify road permits, drivers� licences, details of drivers and other particulars of taxis operating to and from the airport and submit a detailed report to the committee by June 15.
