RANGIYA, March 6 - Over a hundred residents living near Maranjana Integrated Industrial Development Centre (IIDC) staged a dharna before the SDO (Civil) office here on Saturday demanding closure of all the harmful industries located under the Centre, which they claimed had polluted the area and posed a general threat to public health and safety. The protesters raised the issue of recent accidental deaths of two industrial workers of Kamrup Fuels during duty hours and demanded appropriate compensation to the kith and kin of the deceased.
Later, a memorandum was submitted to the SDO (Civil) for doing the needful for addressing the local people�s grievances.
