Call to remember Netaji�s contribution

GUWAHATI, Oct 21 - The All Assam Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthday Celebration Committee (AANSCBBCC) today observed the 77th anniversary of the proclamation of �Azad Hind Sarkar� at Netaji Chowk, Paltan Bazar here, according to a press release.

AANSCBBCC has appealed to the government to give proper recognition to this special day (October 21) as the Provincial Government was formed with Netaji Subhas as Prime Minister and the same was recognised by as many as eleven countries including Japan, Germany, Italy, etc.

Ramen Deka, president of the committee spoke about the contributions of Netaji and INA soldiers in India�s freedom movement. Padmashree awardee and chief advisor to the committee Ajoy Dutta garlanded Netaji�s statue and appealed to the nation not to forget the sacrifices of Netaji and INA.

Debashish Sengupta and Prantosh Roy asked the upcoming generation to follow the path of Netaji Subhas. AANSCBBCC general secretary Rajib Das and Sankar Chakraborty appealed to the government to declare October 21, 1943 as Independence Day instead of August 15,1947.

Mahadeb Chakraborty, Diljit Baruah, Ajanta Borgohain, Biswajit Khound, Kanu Das, Ravi Mishra, Sanjan Biswas, Prasanta Banik, Rupali Mukherjee, Anjan Choudhury and others who were present in the programme, paid tribute to all INA soldiers, the press release added.
