GUWAHATI, Aug 29 � Dr Jogendra Narayan Bhuyan Memorial Trust in its meeting held on Sunday requested the Publication Board of Assam to publish all the literary works of Dr Bhuyan in a collected volume in order to make available to the new generation the wealth of wisdom contained in the diverse works of the departed scholar.
The meeting held under the presidentship of Dr Nagen Saikia decided to organize annual lectures in memory of the illustrious scholar. Accordingly, the first lecture of the trust will be delivered by Prof Ranjit Kumar Deva Goswami on October 29 synchronizing with the birthday of Dr Bhuyan.
The subject of the lecture will be �19th century Assam and Anandaram Dhekial Phukan.�
Dr Alpana Sarkar Deka in her report dwelt on the progress made by the trust in enlisting people�s cooperation. The trust by a resolution included a few additional members as trustees and chalked out a programme for dissemination of the ideals of Dr Bhuyan.
DN Chakravartty, who is the vice-president of the trust, suggested that Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra and the Brihattar Panjabari Sahitya Sabha should be associated as partners in implementing the programmes for perpetuation of the memory of Dr Bhuyan.
Vinayak Bhuyan, Maadhan Bhuyan, Pushpendra Bora and Madan Deka took part in the discussion.
