GUWAHATI, March 5 - Chief Information Commissioner HS Das has directed the Director of WPT&BC Department to provide the basic information regarding several development councils in the Directorates website for the benefit of the public at large.

The direction came today in view of the inability of the Moria Development Council to provide information as sought by a petitioner, Md Akil Hussain. The Commission also pointed out that the Moria Development Council could not furnish the required information as sought by the petitioner as the council is running without adequate staff.

In the light of this development, the Chairman of Moria Development Council submitted that the council took time to furnish the information, as the petitioner sought information which is voluminous in nature and the council does not have sufficient infrastructure to provide the information to the petitioner.

Consequently, the Commission directed that the Moria Development Council would get 30 days time to furnish the information to the petitioner.
