GUWAHATI, Jan 4 - Luminaries of Sattriya culture and the Kalakshetra Society here have expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of thefts at the places of worship like Sattras and Devalayas in the State.
Dr Keshavananda Dev Goswami, Punyabrat Dev Goswmai of Nikamul Sattra, Bhadrakanta Goswami and Kushal Chandra Goswami of Asom Sattra Mahasabha, Ripu Mahanta of Jokai Sattra, Kusha Bordoloi of Naruwa Sattra, Nigamananda Adhikar, Durgeswar Bayan and Madan Kalita of Samoria Sattra and others have stressed the need of security of the Sattras and Devalayas and called for immediate government intervention in this regard.
It needs to be mentioned here that political parties like the BJP and the AGP have
