Call for joint fight against swine flu

By The Assam Tribune

KOHIMA, March 6 Nagaland Health Minister P Longon has asked individuals and the concerned departments of the State to be well-informed about H1N1 virus causing swine flu and collectively fight against it instead of dishing out wrong information leading to fear.

The State Health department was closely monitoring the situation to prevent its spread, he said in a statement recently. So far, four cases have been confirmed in the State, but no casualty reported.

He also advised the people not to travel to areas from where swine flu was reported and rush to the nearest health centre if symptoms similar to swine flu developed in a person.

The State, he said, was keeping a vigil and every effort was being made to stop any new case with the support of the State machinery and available resources. We will give our best to tackle the situation, he added. On the availability of medicines, he assured there was no dearth of medicines and necessary investigation facilities for detection of H1N1 were available. PTI
