Call for effective use of IT in schools

GUWAHATI, Sept 9 - The Oxford University Press today organised a first of its kind information technology workshop on �Effective use of information technology in schools� at the Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Uzan Bazar, Guwahati.

The workshop was conducted by Sandeep Kumar, Product Manager, Technology-based learning, and aimed to facilitate the development of solutions that would enhance the learning capacity of children and help teachers to conduct classes more effectively.

The workshop was inaugurated by Chandan Bhuyan, Senior Territory Manager, North East. Bhuyan stressed the need for workshops that help strengthen concepts that can be used effectively, especially in CBSE and State Board schools in the digitally dynamic times.

�It is imperative for teachers and students alike to educate themselves about the effective use of information technology. India is witnessing a dawn of digitisation, everything from reading textbooks to taking examinations, are becoming automated,� he said.
