Call for Centres advisory to stop harassment of NE people

By Spl Correspondent

NEW DELHI, March 17 - With reports of harassment of people of the North East following the coronavirus scare, pouring in from different parts of the country, MPs of the North Eastern States today demanded a Central Government advisory to ensure halt to such cases.

Raising the issue during the Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Tapir Gao said that people of the North East are facing threats and harassment due to the virus scare. He alleged that students and youths from the region are being asked to vacate their houses and students studying in universities and colleges are being hounded out.

It is a conspiracy to create racial hatred against the people of the North East, the Arunachal Pradesh MP added. The Government of India should send advisories to States to ensure that such harassment is stopped immediately, Gao demanded.
