Cachar, Kolasib DCs pitch for mutual efforts to maintain law and order ahead of Assembly election

Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli along with Dr H.Lalthlangliana Deputy Commissioner of Kolasib district in Mizoram held talks in the office chamber of DC Kolasib shared their views and ideas in regard to maintaining peaceful atmosphere in the border areas especially ahead of the Assembly elections in Assam.

In her address, Cachar DC Jalli underscored the importance of cooperation from the neighbouring district and pointed out on the need of extending efforts to control the contraband items, drugs and flow of currencies between the district borders and requested the DC Kolasib to arrange Light Motor vehicles, which they are running short of, in the preparation for the upcoming election. Jalli expressed her gratitude in the mutual efforts given by the DC, Kolasib in maintaining law and order in the areas adjoining the two districts.

DC Kolasib Dr.H.Lalthlangliana pointed out that all necessary information be shared between the two districts officials in order to build a lasting relationship and that he will do his best towards maintaining peace and harmony in the border areas to ensure peaceful conduct of the election.


Superintendent of police Cachar Bhanwar Lal Mina spoke about the checking of illegal cash flow, liquor and other detrimental elements which may cause disturbances in conducting the ensuing Assembly election.

Superintendent of Police Kolasib Lalfakzuala, Assistant Commissioner Vibhor Agarwal IAS, Circle officer attached Sonai Bikash Chetri ALRS, DTO, Cachar Angshuman Biswas, and other officials also attended the meeting.
