SILCHAR, Nov 18 - Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli and Divisional Forest Officer Sunnydeo Choudhury along with a team of officials inspected Aitlangkhal area on the Assam-Mizoram border and took stock of the situation there.

The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the local residents and learnt about the removal of forest boundary pillars in the area.

On Wednesday, talking to The Assam Tribune, Jalli said We had gone to the last point between Assam and Mizoram border after an arduous journey of 26 kms trekking in a hilly terrain. The border pillar seems to have been removed. Further, there is a school that needs to be protected. We have decided to mobilise some force there. Pillar needs to be reconstructed. As per minutes of meeting held in 2012, the pillar needs to be constructed by both the governments.
