IMPHAL, Sept 28 - National Peoples Party (NPP)s legislature wing leader and former Health Minister L Jayantakumar today said the recent reshuffling of Cabinet in a coalition government in Manipur was not justified.
Addressing a press conference in Imphal today, Jayantakumar said that information needs to be given to NEDA (North East Democratic Alliance), NPP national president and also the local leader for the reshuffle as there is something called coalition ethics in a coalition government.
But it seems it has been totally violated, he said. NEDA today has no meaning at all. NEDA is an alliance of non-Congress parties in the North East formed in 2016. Both NPP and BJP are NEDA members.
On Thursday, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who heads a BJP-led 3-and-a-half-year-old coalition government, had effected a reshuffle of his Cabinet by dropping six ministers three from BJP, two from NPP and one from Lok Janshakti Party(LJP) and inducted five, including two ex-MLAs.
The three dropped (BJP) ministers are V Hangkhalian,Th Radheshyam and Nemcha Kipgen, while the LPJ (minister) was K Shyam. The newly inducted ministers are S Rajen,Vungzagin Valte, Th Satyabarta - all from BJP, O Lukhoi and O Henry-ex-MLAs who resigned from the Congress and joined BJP.
