By Correspondent

BONGAIGAON, Jan 21 - The ongoing movement against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 is baseless and there is nothing in the Bill which can harm the people of the State, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said in his public address today at Bijni in Chirang district.

Sonowal today laid the foundation of North East Military School at Bijni and asked the people to keep confidence on his government which has always prioritised protection of the indigenous groups in the State. BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary made it clear that he has no objection on the Cabinets decision to grant ST status to six communities of the State. He supported the ST Bill to be passed without hampering the interest of the existing Scheduled Tribes.
