GUWAHATI, July 20 - Taxi operators in the city have allegedly been fleecing cab users not only with illogical fares but also in the name of cancellation charges.
Many cab users here are of the opinion that the taxi operators are fond of assigning the job of transporting them to the cabs operating in opposite directions and even in the areas marked as dropping locations by the commuters, and they charge cancellation fees from the cab users whenever they cancel such trips, without any rhyme or reason.
Even after explaining the situations under which such trips are cancelled and accepting such explanations, the taxi operators continue to realise the cancellation charges.
Significantly, there is no contact number or email id available on the apps or websites of the taxi operators to lodge complaints directly to them on such issues, cab users have alleged.
