GUWAHATI, Sept 30 - A bust of Manik Chandra Borooah was unveiled on the campus of the Manik Chandra High School, Uzanbazar here today in memory of late Manik Chandra Borooah, who laid the foundation of modern higher education and civic life in the State with his tireless efforts in the early 20th century.
The bust was unveiled as part of the celebration of the centenary of the MC High School, which was set up in 1915 in memory of one of the architects of modern Assam, as a Middle English (ME) School and later upgraded to a High School. Noted educationist and critic Dr Hiren Gohain unveiled the bust.
