Businessman files case against three cops

UDALGURI, Dec 15 - A businessman from Tangla town filed a criminal case against three police officials before the Chief Judicial Magistrate here on December 10.

According to reports, Mithun Chakraborty, a Tangla town-based businessman filed the case alleging the SDPO of Bhergaon Barun Purkaystha, OC of Tangla PS Durga Kingkar Sarma and SI Pratap Nath under Section 323, 354 (a), 389 and 294 of IPC for voluntarily causing hurt, scaring and singing obscene songs and mouthing uncouth words in public place. He named 10 witnesses in his complaint.

He alleged that on the night of October 15, SI Nath seized his vehicle despite the latter producing all the necessary documents near Tangla HS playground on the Mangaldai-Bhutiachang Road in Tangla town. �As I did not have my driving licence, I retrieved it from home and produced it, though the officer refused to release the vehicle,� Chakraborty alleged.
