Bushu Dima Fest in city today

GUWAHATI, Feb 16 � The Dimasa community of Guwahati is celebrating the Annual Bushu Dima 2013 in the city tomorrow.

The programme is jointly being organised by Greater Guwahati Dimasa Kachari Association (GGDKA) and the Guwahati Raji Khunang Consultative Committee, in association with Dimasa Students� Community, Guwahati at Saukuchi, Dakhingaon, said a press release here.

Bushu is celebrated on January 27 every year, which has been officially declared as the day of Bushu Dima Festival in all Dimasa inhabited villages, towns and districts. However, in Guwahati, the festival is organized keeping in view the convenience of the busy schedule of the working community and the students.

This year the day-long festival will be celebrated with traditional fervor. The celebration will include various traditional sports, Dimasa traditional dance Baidima and various other cultural activities. On the occasion, a grand feast is also being prepared with Dimasa traditional gastronomic delights. The organising committee has invited all the Dimasa people living in the city and the well wishers of the community to take part in the celebration and make it a grand success.
