Buoyant AAP calls for change in Manipur

By Correspondent

IMPHAL, Feb 10 The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)s landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly polls has encouraged its Manipur unit to reiterate its stand on bringing in a change in the State once the party comes to power.

Im sure educated people of the region must be looking for a change in Manipur. So they should come forward to bring in a change, said AAP Manipur unit convenor Thoudam Manihar.

The victory in Delhi will reflect not only in the country but also in Manipur.

Expressing happiness over the stunning victory by AAP in Delhi, Manihar, addressing a press conference at Manipur press Club here this afternoon said AAP can usher in a change in the State politics in the near future. The people know the difference between AAP and other political parties, he said.

Manihar stated that being a party dedicated to promote the poor section of society, AAP can provide employment to the educated unemployed youths of the region using simple methodology.

Once the educated unemployed youths were provided employment, even the law and order situation of the State would improve as unemployment is a root cause behind the deterioration of law and order, he claimed. The law and order situation has worsened due to various factors, including implementation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in the region.

Regarding the immigrants remark in BJPs Vision Document for the Delhi election, the AAP functionary said the mindset of BJP leaders at the Centre against the people in NE has been exposed even though the party claimed to have removed the remark from the document.

So what can we expect from such a party? he argued and added that such a mistake should not to be repeated in the future. He also recalled the incident of mass uprising on June 18, 2011 in the State.

Coming down on Congress, he said the party criticised AAP when AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal had staged dharna in the Delhi streets, now the ruling Congress is doing the same in the streets of Imphal.

The joint convenor of AAP, Manipur unit, Jugindro Thiyam, senior member Dr Khomdon Lisam, and other executive members of the party also attended the press conference.
