Buddha Mahotsava concludes

ITANAGAR, Nov 6 - Buddha Mahotsava 2016 came to an end at Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh�s West Kameng district today with the final day�s festival themed �Shooting Stars� being graced by Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, MoS for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and popular Bollywood singer Adnan Sami.

The monks of Chilipam Monastery, Rupa performed a 30-minute traditional chant. After that, the dignitaries offered prayers and khada (a traditional scarf) to Lord Buddha.

Earlier, the closing function started with traditional dance performances by Sartang, Bugun and Shertukpen tribes. This was followed by a series of traditional dance numbers by troupes from various other tribes.

One of the highlights of the evening was the fashion show presented by acclaimed designer Yana Ngoba. The evening closed with scintillating performances by Simanta Shekhar and Rupa Kashyap and a special performance by Adnan Sami.
