SONARI, April 24 � The 75th annual general meeting and third annual conference of the All Assam Buddha Mahasabha will be held from tomorrow at the Benuban Buddha Vihar here.

The open session will be held on April 26 with Bhadanta Amritananda Mahathare, president, All Assam Buddha Mahasabha, in the chair. Vadanta Karuna Shastri Mahathare will inaugurate the open session. Dharmaratna Bhadanta (Dr) Sasanbansa Mahathare will be the guest of honour.

Sarat Barkataky, Education Minister of Assam, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Dr Lalit Shyam will be present as the appointed speaker, while Dr Bhimkanta Baruah of Dibrugarh University and Dr Anil Saikia, principal, Moran College, will be the distinguished guests. A seminar on �Relevance of Buddha�s teachings in the present day� will be held, which will be conducted by Dr Naren Shyam.

A cultural procession will also be taken out tomorrow. The souvenir will be released by Robin Konwar, retired principal, Sonari College. The youth wing of the Mahasabha will also be formed.
