GUWAHATI, Feb 25 - Bud Cricket Club Red sailed into the final of the Jugal Kishore Newatia Memorial Cricket Championship. In the first semifinal played at the Mangaldai Stadium today, host Bud CC posted a five-wicket victory against Navajyoti Club.
Batting first, Navajyoti were all out for 149 in 35.3 overs in the 40-over encounter. Sib Sankar Roy, Abhijit Sinha Roy and Pallav Das were their leading run getters with 37, 35 and 29 respectively.
The Bud batsmen did not have to face much of a challenge in chasing the target as they scored 152 losing five wickets in 31.3 overs. Roshan Basfor and Kunal Saikia remained unbeaten on 51 and 32 respectively. Tarjinder Singh added 21.
