BTC poll, law and order review meeting held

KOKRAJHAR, March 7 � To review the law and order situation of Kokrajhar district, a review meeting was held today at the DC�s conference hall, here which was chaired by Thaneswar Malakar, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar.

In the meeting Malakar informed about the preliminary preparation for the ensuing BTC election. He revealed that at present the law and order situation is under strict vigil and the district is peaceful. But the trouble mongers may disrupt the peace and tranquillity at any time for which he asked all the law enforcing agencies to be alert so that no untoward incidents may take place in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner also ordered to take video graphs of political meetings so that no anti-social elements can harm the society as well as no communal opinion should be delivered in such meetings. Besides, he also informed that it will be taken into consideration of installation of CCTV in sensitive polling stations.

At the same time Malakar also directed all sectors and zonal officers to study the field level problems and submit the report as early as possible.

Superintendent of Police, Kokrajhar Sunil Kumar informed that bond will be taken from those who are habitual offenders as per CrPC and all the licensed arms will be seized in view of the forthcoming elections. Besides stern action will be taken against the law breakers, he said.

SDO and SDPO of Gossaigaon and Parbatjhora Sub-division and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
