BARAMA, July 30 As many as 40 members of the AGP and the Congress party joined the BPF formally at a largely attended BPF meeting held at Merkuchi near Barama recently. While addressing the meeting held under the presidentship of Kusal Talukdar, Banomali Baro, the executive member of BTC said that BTC was not only for Bodo people but also for other people inhabiting within the boundary of BTAD. In the meeting he said that constitutional safeguards to the non Bodos will be provided and non bodos will enjoy other facilities following the guidelines of the BTC Accord.

He expressed resentment over the role of a section of people who have been trying their best to spoil the minds of peace loving people by creating sentimental issues among the non bodos. He appealed to the gathering irrespective of caste, creed, religion and language to live in peace.

Prabin Baro, the general secretary of the central BPF while speaking in the meeting said that division among the people living in BTC would hamper the development the area. He said that the non bodos were more benefitted than the Bodos in some matters. Rama Kanta Baro, the organising secretary of BPF stressed on the strengthening of the party.

Earlier, Maneswar Brahma, the parliamentary secretary inaugurating the meeting urged all sections of people to help create peace and harmony and live amicably.
