NAGAON, Oct 13 - BSF Jalandhar annexed the 70th Independence Day Cup title defeating Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata 5-4 via tie-breaker at the Nurul Amin Stadium here today.

The scoreline read 1-1 in regulation time with Mohammedan Sporting�s foreign recruit Kauame Atcha Charales and BSF Jalandhar�s Sadam Hussain finding the back of the net in the 16th and 35th minute respectively.

With the match proceeding into tie-breaker, the BSF men had the last laugh with Kamal Kishore, Gurpreet, Md Asif and PH Boy Singh converting from the spot. Prasenjit Chakraborty, Charales and David Osame found the target for the Kolkata outfit in tie-breaker.

Earlier, Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain, who was present as the chief guest, was introduced to the players.
