GUWAHATI, Oct 28 - The Border Security Force (BSF), Guwahati Frontier, initiated a weeklong Vigilance Awareness Week at its Patgaon headquarters in the city and all units and sectors under its command, which got under way yesterday. The event is being held under the direction of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), New Delhi. This year, the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week-2020 is �Vigilant India, Prosperous India.�
The observance commenced with a vigilance pledge administered by Virender Singh, DIG (PSO) Frontier HQ, Guwahati, under overall supervision of Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General, BSF, Frontier HQ Guwahati, according to a press release. While administering the pledge, Kumar said the objective of the observance was to reaffirm the commitment to fight against unethical practices, blatant violation of systems and procedures, and corruption prevailing at workplaces. He emphasised the need for creating awareness on governance in the force. He also briefed the personnel about the weeklong programme, in which a lecture on �Vigilant India, Prosperous India�, quiz, debate, display of banners, slogans and posters on anti-corruption theme at prime locations would also be organised during the week at Frontier HQ as well as the units and sectors under the Guwahati Frontier.
All the staff in the BSF headquarters pledged to continuously strive to bring about integrity and transparency in all spheres of activity, work for eradication of corruption, bring pride to the organisation through collective efforts, provide value-based service to countrymen, do their duty consciously and act without fear and favour. The BSF observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year in conformity with the instructions of the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi.
