BSF DG lauds Guwahati Frontier for checking crime on border

GUWAHATI, March 5 - BSF DG Rajni Kant Mishra today visited the force�s frontier headquarters here. He was received by BSF IG Rakesh Aggarwal and other senior officers of the frontier.

On a two-day visit to the frontier, the BSF DG inaugurated the newly-constructed Amenity Community Centre and Gymnasium at Guwahati Frontier HQ Campus, Patgaon in the presence of BSF officers and jawans.

The gym and community centre will be a milestone in the measures taken to improve the quality of life and health of the BSF personnel and their families, a statement said.

After the inauguration, the DG interacted with the personnel of the Frontier HQ and appreciated the efforts made by the Guwahati Frontier by causing a nosedive decline in smuggling and other criminal activities on the border despite adverse conditions and challenges. He emphasised that challenges for the force might increase in the future for which the BSF personnel should keep up their professional skills in tandem with modernisation.

The DG assured the personnel that work for providing better infrastructure is going on in the force at a rapid pace and its result are visible on the ground.

He further mentioned that, BSF Guwahati Frontier is doing a commendable job in efficiently guarding the international border and also performing its social responsibility through civic action programmes for the well-being of the border populace. He also lauded the several welfare measures taken up for holistic improvement of the force and border population.

This is Mishra�s first visit to this frontier after taking charge as DG BSF.
