BSF, BGB hold flag meeting

NILAMBAZAR, Nov 28 - A flag meeting between Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and India�s Border Security Force (BSF) was held on Wednesday at Sutarkandi. In the meeting, Lt Col Zakir Hussain, Regional Commandant, Zubajr Hussain, Sector Commandant of BGB, Srimoangal Sector ( Bangladesh) and Prafulla Kumar Raushan IG, BSF, SA Srivastav, DIG, BSF Silchar Range ( India), were present.

The senior officials of the two forces discussed various issues, including security scenario, cattle smuggling, and other routine issues related to border management, a reliable source said.

The meeting was held in a cordial, positive and constructive atmosphere and both sides agreed to expeditious implementation of the decisions taken and committed to each other to maintain peace and tranquility along the international border, it added.

Meanwhile, the BSF 7th Bn organised a civic programme at Laxmibazar border out post, where the BSF officials distributed tailoring machines and water filters among the border residents. A free health check up camp was also organised. Later, the BSF officials distributed 21 appointment letters among the local youths.
