GUWAHATI, Jan 21 � Former Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Brindaban Goswami has come out in support of yoga exponent Baba Ramdev�s call for a Congress-free country. Goswami, who has been staying away from active work of the AGP since the past few years, on Monday made an appearance along with Baba Ramdev at a press conference here.
Asked by the reporters whether he is planning to join the BJP, an issue which has been speculated for quite some time in the State�s politics, Goswami refrained from giving a direct reply and only said that he is with Ramdev on common issues of concern.
He praised Ramdev for �being the first person� to raise the issue of black money being stashed in foreign bank accounts. �I also agree whole-heartedly with his views regarding the basic problems grasping Assam, including the threat from continuing illegal immigration,� said the former State Education Minister.
