SILCHAR, June 18 - A bride in Silchar refused to marry the groom after her family found that he was physically challenged.
In a complaint filed recently, Hari Roy, father of the bride and a resident of Das Colony area here alleged that the marriage was fixed by a match maker Jaya Nath of Tarapur. Further, the bride�s family members alleged that during the marriage rituals, the groom was behaving abnormally and there were issues in his movements.
On enquiry, they were told that he had suffered an accident and there is nothing much to worry about. �The match maker and the groom�s family have cheated us. The fact that the groom is physically handicapped was concealed,� Hari Roy said.
On the other hand, Birendra Roy has also filed an FIR alleging physical assault on him and his son by the family members of the bride.
The groom, a resident of Nazirapatty, is an engineer by profession.
