GUWAHATI, March 30 � Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Dr Jitendra Singh today said the Central government would finance a Centre for Brahmaputra Studies in the Gauhati University (GU).
Dr Singh, who was addressing the 25th convocation of GU here, also underlined the need for setting up a centre for organic studies for the benefit of certain regions of the country, like the NE.
There was also the need to set up a department in the universities like GU for studying matters related with the topography of the NE region, he said.
