BPF leads in 4 seats in Kokrajhar subdivision

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 12 - The Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People�s Front (BPF) has taken lead in four of the five BTC seats in Kokrajhar Sadar subdivision this evening.

Till filing of this report, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in one seat. The final results are expected late tonight.

In Kokrajhar Sadar subdivision, the BPF and the UPPL candidates are locked in a neck-and-neck contest in four seats while the Fakiragram constituency is witnessing a tough fight between the AIUDF and the BJP candidates.

In 10-Debargaon (ST) constituency, former BTC chief and BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary is leading against his nearest rival Budhadev Mushahary of the UPPL by a margin of 438 votes.

In 7-Fakiragram (Non-ST) constituency, BJP candidate Arup Kumar Dey has taken a lead of 4,316 votes over his AIUDF rival Anowar Hussain.

UPPL candidate Lazu Mushahary was trailing behind BPF nominee and former BTC Executive Member Derhasat Basumatary by 1,579 votes in 12-Salakati (ST) constituency.

In 9-Banargaon (ST) constituency, BPF candidate and former Executive Member of BTC Rajib Brahma is leading by 3,909 votes against his nearest rival Rabiram Brahma of the UPPL.

Similarly in 11-Baokhungri (ST) seat, former EM Dhoneswar Goyari of the BPF took a lead of 2,413 votes over his UPPL rival Prativa Brahma.
