The team from Nepal has entered the final in their Bordoloi Trophy debut, while, Abahoni have played on earlier edition of the trophy.
Considering the two teams previous games in the trophy, experts fell that this time the final will be a low-intensity affair.
On the way to the final, 3 Star drew their quarterfinal matches to enter the semifinals. In the semifinals, the club defeated Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong 4-3 in the tie-breaker.
On the other hand, Abahoni drew one match and defeated ASEB in their quarterfinal league matches. In the semifinal, the team defeated local favourite Shillong Lajong 1-0.
