GUWAHATI, June 9 � MLA Capt Robin Bordoloi has handed over a cheque of Rs 75,000 to the Assam Sports Journalists Association (ASJA) from his Local Area Development Fund for renovation of the ASJA office situated in the RG Baruah Sports Complex here.
Bordoloi has sanctioned Rs one lakh for the purpose and the remaining amount will be released after producing utilisation certificate of this amount. The cheque was handed over to the ASJA adviser Balendra Mohan Chakravorty in a function held at the Assam Olympic Association office here today. Speaking on the occasion, Bordoloi said the sports scribes of the State should have adequate facilities for providing news to the people and for this purpose, Bordoloi has promised to provide a TV set to the ASJA office.
